Raising funds

to enhance our children's education

SOS are a group of parents who work together to raise money for the children of Oughtibridge Primary School. This year we aim to raise £8,000 for resources and activities that are not government funded. We make fundraising fun and each year we warmly welcome new members (who become new friends) into the committee group.

We're always grateful for any time that can be spared. We usually meet informally in the pub once a half-term but you don't need to attend to be involved.

There are many easy ways that YOU can support our school.........

So what have we been raising funds for.....

SOS launched WOW days last year which provided a £1k budget per year group to spend on curriculum enhancing events to support the teachers in bringing the lessons to life. The initiative was a huge success which was appreciated by the teachers but was most importantly, loved by the children! We plan to continue with the WOW day budget for this school year.

On top of the WOW days, SOS contributed funds towards new computers, the bee viewing shed, a class worth of head phones, Lego for the lunchtime Lego club, the inflatable planetarium Christmas surprise, a ride on the Lollipop train for all of Y2, topic books, entertainers, a trip to the cinema for the Y6 leavers, sports equipment and new planters outside the KS2 classrooms.

Take a look at some of the photos,

We're looking for someone who would be interested in being our "Bags 2 School Ambassador". There are currently 2 collections per academic year and we would just need you to create a bit of a buzz with posters around the school etc to remind people when the next collection would be. It's a really easy way to get involved so please let us know if you would like to do it/would like more info 😊
